Search & Rescue
Apple Rescuebuilding community, one apple at a time!
Picture this.
In 2023, amidst a lively conversation, centered around the loss of unused apples and its subsequent waste, the farm’s trusty canine companion, Tux, pricked up his ears. As the guardian of the barnyard, Tux was drawn to join this gallant quest of reclamation. And so it began where Tux embarked on a daring expedition, disappearing into the depths of a thorny blackberry thicket, his noble mission to rescue forsaken apples and, in a delightful twist, wild blackberries that crossed his path. The rescuers eventually located Tux and ‘rescued’ his cornucopia of produce.
After this harvest found its way back to the farm, the farmer and cider maker decided to craft a batch of blackberry vanilla cider.
Tux’s Treasure is now available!
For this year’s harvest, we realize that other farmers and community members also have unused apples.
We are inviting everyone who has excess apples to donate them
towards next year’s cider release! A portion of our proceeds will fund
vital rescue gear for Central Fraser Valley Search and Rescue!
